Many of the vehicles have been taken out and placed on display around the new Armor complex..that place is HUGE and just friggin awesome!!

Wednesday we (CAMO) are supposed to meet some fellers with the museum and coordinate helping him remove a crossdrive from an M4. Seems like an M4 is restored at Ft Knox but the cross drive is bad so they need this one.

Their tools/equipment haven't arrived yet so they ask us to help next week.:):)

I wonder if they have moved the Remagen Bridge, 'Cross the Rhein With Dry Feet' sign to Benning?

My father and his squad had that sign painted and hung on the bridge tower.

My Brother went to Ft Knox in '79 and was there his whole 4 years in armor. I have toured the museum and was sad to see it move south.

Update

Yesterday after steaks at the VFW, Doc and I checked the training schedule and it called for a recon of the Armor Museum Consolidation Point.

They now have a very nice facility to work on stuff on Sand Hill...Fort Benning and are massing the stuff they've had stashed all over post.

They were very busy with heavy haul trucks coming and going so we didn't wanna get in the way and just wondered around snapping a few pics. Didn't go inside the maintenance facility cause there were several folks around that sorta looked official.

Anyhoo...here's a progress update:
