1953 m38a1

Hello all, I just bought my first M38A1 its a 1953. The question I have is on the front leaf spring shackles. The drivers side shackle is 2 3/4 inches form center to center and rests on the frame making it have no movement , and the passenger side is 4 inches center to center. It has the lean that I have read about on here that they get , but when I removed the shackles it leveled right up and flat. My question is what is the right shackle for the fronts the 2 3/4 " or the 4" and where can I find a after market shackle that will fit. Thanks for any help. shawn

Here is a pic of the two front shackles. The one I need is the bigger 4" shackle. I will try and take some pics of the rest of the Willy soon.

That 4" shackle is not available that I am aware of. If your spring is resting on the frame with the smaller shackle, you are due for a re-arch.

why would he have 2 defernt shackles? Please educate me. TY.
