I got my rebuild kit from UPS today!! I commandeered the coffee table and I am going to work on it, following your directions. I am using Qtips and turpentine to clean it. Wife unit is looking at me funny. I am taking pics along the way...

    Default All done!

You were right Cougar! Very quick and easy! It took longer to clean everything than the actual replacing of parts! It actually takes longer to swap the turbo out on the Deuce then it takes to clean and rebuild it. I would upload some pix, but why bother...yours are better anyway! Thank you again for the step by step instructions...could not have done it with out you!

Now to rebuild the other two turbos!!!!! This is FUN!

This thread is so full of win. I now know exactly what I'm going to do with the whistler turbo on my parts truck.

Sorry, not interested in rebuilding turbos. Just did this project for fun and then sold the turbo. The new owner loves it and sounds just like he wanted.

is it possible to just buy the oil seals? the D turbo on my LDS-465 1A leaks oil in the intake and smokes a lot which it may be leaking on the exhaust side too. just a thought if i just needed those seals and gaskets or if i should just get the whole kit. Thanks!

I am not positive, but I think you have to get the whole kit. Might as well replace the bearings while you are in there replacing the seals. I have about 50 miles on my rebuilt whistler and I could not be happier!
