I just bought a USAF deuce from another member on here, and I will be posting the info to add to the registry! The truck has all the data plates and is in very fair condition. I'll try to get the info when I get home this weekend.

My frame number is 1040-10232 would that make my reg number 87K1746.Going by the frame number on the 1st one mentioned above.Working the numbers backwards.

By the way on the last picture on the driver side under the headlight is the original Air Force tag with the vin on it for the truck. Has anyone ever got this tag with their truck when they have purchased from GL? Someone told me that I wasn't supposed to get that?

Most of the trucks & trailers Ive seen (near me) usually have that tag on them..... of course that doesnt mean they were supposed to leave it on? Also, I've never seen a bobbed late model a2 before (that I'm aware of) Yours looks good!. If you have any issues with the rear brakes locking up easily let me know and I can get you a better matching master cylinder for your bobber or give you some ideas to improve braking without the cost of a new M/C.

Thanks on the comment. My brakes have only locked up one time since ive owned it. I pulled over and pumped them hard a couple times and they released and haven't had a problem sense then. When I got it from GL it had 8k miles on it and now it has 12k. I Think it may have been from sitting. I was kinda curious on the MC though. I never have posted anything on it though. Mine does have the plastic reservoir MC on it not the metal with the the metal cap. It has two caps on it like the A3's have but it is absolutely impossible to get the rear cap off because of the cross member. I keep a good check on the fluid because the brake light switch was leaking and I didn't know it one time (caught it before it ran out). I can't really see or feel down in it from the access door because it is offset from the access door and is a pain to put fluid in it. But I guess the divider inside the MC isn't actually split all the way to the top so I can fill it in just the front and it spills over to the other circuit. I really want to put a remote reservoir on it so I can just glance at it because it is such a pain to check. But mine has plastic caps on it. So I haven't really looked into the best way to do it yet considering the kits have the pipe plug for the cap and mine is just a plastic cap and doesn't have the port. I have been looking at your brake line kits and am probably going to order some in the near future. But all in all the brakes are DECENT considering the dropped axle and 16.00's but also far from perfect the pedal is extremely stiff and everything seems to be in the correct working order. I've read that most dual circuit are stiff like that. Thanks

Ive got a friend that got a usaf space command a2c wo/w c turbo from hooks ealier in 2013. Came from tinker as best we can tell. I dont have any of his numbers at the moment. Had to remove the fuel tank, clean the red silt out, put a new fuel pump on it, think he had to refill all the fluids. They did things a bit differently on those rigs. Ill see about adding his info if he doesnt mind. If he does, ill delete this post.

Here are some more numbers. Some of the unit numbers are out of sequence. I really don't trust GL.

OK, 87K01674 ser. no 1040 10358 will be headed to Kentucky, Mt Eden Motor Pool.

Were any of these late model Air Force trucks equiped with a winch? I have plans to install a winch set up on my '87, however the PTO engagement lever and linkage are out of an older M35. This linkage utilizes the single circuit brake master cylinder as an attach point. Late model Airforce units have a completely different master cylinder with no attach point. Search parts catalogs and have not found a answer. Additional attach point needed?

Very very VERY few M35A2C's were equipped with a winch from the factory, and that's in the "total history" of M35A2/M44A2 series trucks..

There is an attachment point for the winch PTO lever on the MC mount on the late model USAF M35A2's...

Yes, some came with winches. My '88 109a3 came with a winch. The dual circuit master cylinder bracket on the 87-89 trucks have a winch lever capstan on them to use all standard winch parts. Look at this TM on pdf page 70 for a picture of how the in cab winch lever would mount to the master cylinder bracket.

Just picked up one from GL, drove it from Hooks, TX to Nothern Virginia, w/ a Jeep JK in tow.

No winch
Engine: White LDT465 1D, however, it somehow have a 'whistler' (C turbo) , rather than the D turbo. May have had turbo replacement (with refurb. C-turbo ??) during maintenance ??

Do we have any kind of ballpark figure or ratio of winch to non-winch AF M35A2C trucks? Just curious about how rare my Deuce is.

I have seen very few (actually none) with the winch. Peashooters M109A3 in pictures is the only one.
