Ughh... I have like five of these I need to post up here. Of course, none of them have the data plate anymore. I wish I knew why the air force takes the data plates off of so many of these.

Part of their demil standard required removing all indicators of vehicle number. Were just lucky they don't grind off the frame numbers too.

I would say the winch was added. It would have a serial number of 1041-xxxxx. At least with all the numbers submitted so far.

Thanks for posting your info.

Just got the title for my '87 M35A2 (87K1674) this past Friday. State of Florida Title. First time for a Florida title, all other trucks and trailers have always been issued a AZ title. Finally went through the maintenance records package that came with the truck. It contained the original delivery/acceptance document from LTV Truck Division. Truck was delivered to Warner Robins and the engine serial number listed is still orignal to the truck.

The last truck that I've bolded is mine, you are correct on the bumper number with the very faded 3 and Serial Number: 1040-11229 (from left front frame rail). She is a bit of a project with odds and ends things missing, not sure what the AF had planned for it. Had a bunch of mud dauber nests in the engine bay and in the cab i removed, so the truck most likely sat for a while, along with the radiator being drained.

Ferried my new to me '87 M35A2C (wo/w) home to Utah from Montana last weekend. Didn't see the S/N on the registry here, so I've posted it. I'd love to know the 87K... number if there's a way to determine it from the S/N. Anything on the doors has long since been removed or painted over. The previous owners weren't bashful with the rattle cans.

It's currently wearing Marine Corps Lusterless Green and US Army decals. Being a USAF truck, I guess the only branch not represented is the Navy :p I plan to return it to USAF livery. Otherwise though, it's a clean, straight truck.

Thanks Warthog, but I should have looked more carefully before asking. The number is right there on the identification data plate on my dash. 87K2059
