EUCs and different addresses?

So, I went back to school on the GI Bill and decided to leave my permanent address alone. The whole time I was in the Marine Corps I used my parents address as my home of record and right now I'm living in a rental near the college I go to and my drivers license says my parents address. Does anyone have any experience with this? I was told by GL just to send a copy of a utility bill and that would be fine but I was wondering if anyone knew anything that might help? Also, what is the approximate turnaround time on EUC's? I've heard up to 60 days but I was hoping they were a moving a bit quicker right now. Thanks for any help.

It's my understanding that when the EUC is researched at Battlecreek, MI they use reverse lookup to determine residence. If you have been using one address and suddenly switch to another it could cause problems. I still use the first address I submitted even though I don't live there (ex-wife's place now).

The first EUC is going to take longer....depending on who's desk it lands on and how busy they are selling Avon, planning a baby shower, deciding where to eat lunch or checking Facebook.

If you are only going to buy one vehicle my advice is to buy one from someone local that has already done the legwork and has a title in hand. You can check out the vehicle, drive it and make an informed decsion.

If you are going to do a lot of business with GL then you just have to grin and bear it.

I would have rather just bought one from someone but I couldn't find one close to my budget that would respond. Even with the buyers premium, titling, and recovery I think I'm coming out ahead getting the trailer from GL. I actually just got the winning bid notice and got a nice 101a3 for fairly cheap. Just in case anyone looks at this later I talked to GL and they said that all that was needed was to go ahead and submit your DL and proof of your address in the form of a utility bill and that it should be alright. I'll update it if anything changes.

I just went through this. I had to send them a copy of a utility bill or something similar showing the address that matched my EUC. Worked so far....

I wonder if anyone knows a name of the person at Battle Creek that approves the EUC's.

I just had to do a revision since I had changed the address on my Drivers License.

If I hadn't been in the Army and worked for a gooberment contractor this crap would drive me nuts.

The GL gal that handles EUC revisions is on the ball....she took care of me pretty quick.

When I was in the Navy I had the same thing, kept my parents address. I simply submitted all my EUC's with that address, never had an issue, got them back quick after awhile.

Sometimes it takes time. Mine took almost 90 days but I knew it would take time as I was born in San Juan , Puerto Rico. I am automatically a US citizen but all Birth Certificates were recalled and need to be reissued with safeguards. I suspect it would be under more scrutiny due to where I was born. ICE and Homeland Security are keeping us safe and doing their job. Many un-friendlies were using PR to exploit entry/false identity in the US so hang in there. Things are beyond your control sometimes.:-(

I am sure yours will be much quicker. :D

They actually made me send a copy of my VA paperwork, specifically my education benefits award letter. I was told by Sylvia who is an EUC specialist at GL that Utility bills were no longer good enough and it had to be some form of government issued paperwork. Who knows, they took it and sent it off to Battle Creek on the 25th so I'm hoping it gets back to me soon.

Ahh that's right. One person on the chat live portion of the website told me that a utility bill is acceptable. The EUC Specialist told me that it was not and I had to send in a copy of my latest property tax receipt. Then I was good.

PROOF OF ADDRESS (PHYSICAL ADDRESS BOX): Driver’s license is not the same as home physical address –please send us a copy of any government issued document (this must be sent to you from the Government, not what you send to the Government) showing your name and physical address. (I.E. IRS refund document sent from the Federal Government, Social Security Statement, Property Tax Statement, Deed of Trust, Notarized Rental or Lease agreement, Motor Vehicle Registration, Voter registration card, Utility Bills & Bank Statements are NOT ACCEPTED. This cannot be a PO Box.
