the airhift has been bouncing around in my truck for a few days now, I'm ready to pop it in

looks pretty straightforward and I can access everything without unbolting the case

how much fluid will dump out of there when I take the front half off?

What's the best manual to use?

Just plain old silicone to seal it up?

Bolt torque?

Any hidden tricks, like I need to do some voodoo to get it on there <img src="emoticons/icon_smile_approve.gif" alt="Approve"> I have the front half of the case, the switch and this big 2x5 spring, presumably everything else I reuse?

Does the case need to be in a certain gear?

thanks

If you can please take some pics of the swap. My sprag is broke" the front axle only pulls when going forward". I have a airshift T-case but i was tring to decide weather or not to just swap the whole T-case. If it's easer to just change the front, half i'll go that route. Thanks Ken

TM 9-2520-246-34-1 is the manual that covers the transmissions and transfer cases.
If you want, send me your home e-mail address and I can e-mail you a copy on Saturday (at work, high speed line).

well, haven't gotten to it yet. Been way too cold and wet, this weekend it's supposed to be dry and I will tackle it. I don't have any prior engagements so I'm getting my insulated coveralls and going for it :burger:

well, Dave was right about maybe needing to unbolt the case and move it. I got the output cover unbolted, speedo drive off, sprag linkage semi-undone, fluid drained, but the stupid cover just won't come off. There isn't enough room without undoing half the truck, so it's a good thing I'm the guinnea pig :nono:

well, I'm printing out the manual, which assumes the case is out of the truck, which would make it much easier, and will try to just unbolt the two bolts holding the t-case to the crossmember and try to inch it back to gain some clearance. How far out does the output cover half to go before it can be free of the gear assembly inside?
