LOL, however cheap it is, it's not as cheap as me! A new 09 is going to be on the back burner for a while. Once the tractor sells, I'll be getting a deuce tipper that I'll have to clean up. As much as I'd like one, I just can't. :(

The truck is not overly expensive, and I don't plan on fully restoring it, mainly clean it up and use it for a Daily Driver.

Jeff,

I've been very happy with my M1009 as a daily driver. I bought it in February to use for my home handyman business. It fits most of my tools and with a roof rack, I can carry lumber. I've added a better seat (pics on a different thread). Mine gets around 16 mpg and has no problem cruising at 70-75 comfortably. I'm actually quite surprised at it's overall performance. Off road is a different story since I am used to my Unimog.

Nice truck and 84 is a good guy. Wish I had an in on nice CUCV's like he seems to.

I was actually all set to buy one of his M1009's last December after my wife's DD was totalled...until the wife realized it was the Blazer equivalent of my pickup. "IT'S GREEN!" she says...

84 was a good guy about it and we had a laugh at the wife. Now she has a pretty, newer 4x4 and I only have one CUCV...and a lot less money...

What kind of rack do you have on this truck? I am thinking of downsizing to an m1009 from my longbed ex-cab Diesel dodge. It's about a five foot difference in wheelbase, so I would gain some much needed turning radius. But I have a great lumber rack that holds up to 1000 pounds, and was wondering (particularly w/ the small cargo area) about putting a standard shortbed truck rack on the m1009--they make them to fit around camper tops, and I wondered....could I make that work with the blazer cap?

Not bad compared to ones I have seen lately. I am still looking for the right one for myself but nothing has poped up at all. Good luck with your build hope to see some updated pics.
