Genset Conversion From 3 Phase to Single Phase

I am not sure about this one, but can a 3 phase MEP-804A be converted to single phase without a large amount of changes? Is it a doable project or a long shot. I do know that most other smaller gensets have selector switches just to do that, but am unsure of this unit!

Thanks for that info, I see that it is not feasible unless I am running 3 phase equipment. Back to the drawing board.

Read the TM 9-6115-643-10 manual. You have a 15 KW gen set. Instead of a switch, you have TB-1, a Voltage Reconnection Terminal Board. We used to call it a "Tap Interchange Board" in the old days. Single phase loads can be hooked up to any phase, (L-1, L-2, L-3 and LO. Voltages, 120/or 208.

You probably know, but a lot of 240v equipment is OK on 208v. Just check the specs to verify.

I've been curious to see how these alternators were wound and if there is the possibility to convert a 10 wire head to a 12 wire head.

Is there anyone that has a stator out of one of these machines that could be evaluated for modification?
