M35A2 Seat Belt Kit Differences: Angle Brackets

I have questions for the hive mind.

I have two boxes both labeled NSN 2540-01-245-2444 on the outside (identical Military Compliance Labels). The documentation/manifest/instructions on the inside are different. One says it is kit number 12301438. The other specifies it is kit number 12301439. Both kits are complete based on the included parts list.

Kit 12301438 has 4 angle brackets (part number 12301344). Kit 12301439 does not have angle brackets.

The TM I am looking at does NOT show angle brackets. However, MWO 9-2320-200-35-1 specifies their use. Two of my trucks have angle brackets installed. The other doesn't.

Are there different seat belt kits associated with NSN 2540-01-245-2444? Is one kit older/obsolete or perhaps even dangerous?

Are the brackets required for optimum safety? Should I not use the kit with no brackets?

I would love some sage advice born of experience.
