I believe they are just using the Freightliner M916A1s and M916A2s.

For over-the-road use, the M916A2 can handle the older M915 and M920 duties. For tactical use, the M1088 5-ton FMTV tractor is slated to handle the loads.

its an M1088A1 MTV 5T bobtail. its part of the FMTV (Family Medium Tactical Vehicle). its the latest and greatest in the military inventory. The FMTV replaced the 800 series trucks. great trucks. they're runnig catepillar engines with allison automatics.

I love the hemtt towing a HET, towing an abrams. Makes ya think they should have just used a hemtt in the first place.

In eldgenbs post. In the document he posted. The one that sideways. Its a Hemtt Wrecker towing a m1070 + m1000 with a M1 Abrams on it.
