Does anyone know what the tach ratio is & if the stock fitting is common on civilian vehicles?

I can't stand where the speedo & tach are located & hope to move them. This might require longer cables. Also, does anyone know if easier-to-view aftermarket gauges would accept the stock cable ends for both the tach & speedo?
