So after my new sender (spectra fg05f) came in I noticed that it doesn't have the center "drain" tube like my original that goes to the bottom of the tank (the exterior connecting tube has a 90° bend downward inside the frame rail with a rubber cap). I've read on the 1008 and 1009 posts that a spectra fg05k can be used and has 2 terminal studs on top. I don't plan on draining the tank again but for originality sakes I'd have rather had the drain tube in the tank. The new unit has a plastic check ball valve in the tubes place. According to 4 different parts houses the fg05f unit is the correct one for a d30.
