Just over a week ago, Western and Central Oklahoma had a historic early season ice storm that crippled parts of the state. Some areas received 4” of ice.
Hundreds of thousands of people without power and at or below freezing temperatures for days.
Most of foliage still on trees was biggest problem. Lots of surface area to catch ice.
We lost power not long after it started.
Already had the NF2D in place and ready to go.
When our power finally was restored, the NF2D had ran for over 110 hours straight.
I did shut down once a day to check engine oil.
The unit performed flawlessly and didn’t burn any oil.
It ran everything we needed.
We couldn’t use the clothes dryer, but that’s about it.
We had a good power management plan.
I know the MEP generators are more capable, but this unit worked perfectly when needed and stayed dry during the storm.
I was extremely impressed with it!
Sadly I didn’t track fuel burn as I had other things to think about.
It wasn’t a lot at all.
Plus I had the big flood lights on the unit if I needed it.
I didn’t since the other lights were already being powered.
Best $825 I ever spent at auction.
Picture is the unit right after I serviced it before the storm.
Oil and filter change and all 3 fuel filters.
I add two-cycle oil to fuel and also use SeaFoam additive.
Full service again today so it will be ready for the next storm.
