Problem with 5kw mep generator

I have a 2cyl. Mep? generator, it has been sitting for awile. I have it running but have to hand feather the choke to keep it running smooth, if I let go of the choke it die's. Does anybody have any tips as to what may be the problem. Thanks Stacey

I would surmise that it has some funk growing in the carb. As cheap as they are, I'd just opt for a replacement.

I agree with Kenny.... you could try pulling the jets out, and hose it out with carb cleaner...

Gunked up carb. Fuel restriction (bad pump, bad filter). Fouled plugs. Saturn has lots of parts for these.

Try Saturn Surplus. They sponsor this site and there's a link at the top of the page. Probably around $30 or so. If you have any MEP gas gensets, Saturn is your friend.
