Started bobbing my 5ton

Well I started bobbing my 5-ton with my good friend and the help of his shop, Performance Innovations in Wilmington NC.
We had been talking about it for a little while and then decided to just go for it. Boy am I glad we did. It's not done yet but it is already 10 times cooler. So here are some before pictures, and then where we are so far. The plan is to remove the tire carrier and exhaust stack to get the bed closer to the cab; and shorten the stock bed while retaining the function of the drop sides.

as you can see in the pictures, we broke two 1/2" drive snap on tools trying to break some of the bolts loose.

the rest of pics. Last picture shows how it sits as of now. The springs are mounted to frame and the truck is sitting on the axle, it's just not bolted to the springs. We're waiting on a few air lines and custom cut u-bolt plates and then the axle will be mounted for good and it will drive

Where do you plan on putting the exhaust stack? I was debating going straight up through the hood but I doubt my g/f will like the smell/sound in her face lol

I put it in the stock location almost, through the bed. It was waayyyy too loud straight piped so I kept the muffler. Now, due to unforeseen circumstances I need to sell it. Ughh, once I get something nice that I love it has to go because I need money. Time for me to hit the lottery!

Very nice, did you have to cut a section out of the bed. Sorry you have sell after such a great job!

the bed had about 40" cut out of it, and then a 5" hole in the corner for the exhaust

Hey guys I like your conversion.... Question for you I have a M923 also bobbed and wanted to put a slide in 10' truck camper on the back I'm at 8x8 on the rear bed thinking how to mount and still be in 13'6" max height restriction. I have it in Myrtle Beach would your shop Performance Innovations in Wilmington NC be interested in this project.... i want a serious offroad camper with all the comforts of a modern truck camper.

What springs did you use for the rear? Where did you get your spring plates and u bolts?

Did you leave your rear axle in the stock position? or did you move it?

I used deuce front springs for the rear, reusing deuce ubolts custom made spacers and plates. I left the axle in the stock position
