There was a thread earlier eluding to the fact that there were turbo doghouse conversion trim pieces "out there" to help convert a NA floor pan to what is needed to convert to a turbo doghouse where the floor must be trimmed out, does anyone have any information or sources for these?

No, not yet, you don't have to cut it just to install a turbo doghouse, I will include the mod in my M998 turbo conversion thread

Thanks Mogman.
I ordered those and assume that some rivets will need to be grounded to replace the reinforcement plates.
I realize that it's needed for more than convenience: in my A2 the turbo heat shield doesn't fit without being cut. I received a new heat shield and indeed, I cannot manage to make it fit between the exhaust tubes and the floor.
I assume that with these correct floor parts, there will be more room and the shield will get there smoothly...

Starts around post #9, no rivets cut that I can remember, maybe a couple but I don't grind rivets I cut them with a sharp chisel

I assume the purpose of the trim pieces is so you dont need to put a body lift to get the clearance?
I converted my 6.2 NA to 6.5 TD and did not use these trim pieces. I put a 2" body lift and used the TD doghouse...fit perfect.
