Correct me if I'm wrong, but...

All of the new and up-armored production hummvees are based upon ECV frames. I've only known one ECV frame outside of .mil territory.

Where are they at? One of my goals is to build a replica of the guntrucks I worked on in the mil.

(Added info: I know fairly little about hummvees other than they won't like to be driven in 1st gear on the highway at 4000 RPM, don't like being driven into lakes, make horrible surf boards, and are pigs when loaded out in the mud).

There are 3 types of ECV frames: 12.1k, 12.1k alpha and the REV 3 piece frame.

All are hard to find assembled but you can buy the parts from GL, Ebay and other suppliers. Expect to pay $2k or more for assembled frames less diffs half shafts and steering boxes. The last 2 require alpha steering boxes and they are getting pricey. The ECV cooling stack and shroud is also harder to find and $$.

Buy a bad frame M998 and migrate it over to a 12.1 with ease. Then spend money on cooling, 6.5 turbo with 4L80e and 242 tcase.

Armor is another big hurdle which I avoid.

One of my next project is this type of build. As always everything is for sale ;-),
