I have noticed that most deuces I see are 1968 to 1972. Does anyone know why there seems to be more of these years around than others?

Most of the big contract/orders where fulfilled during those years, then after that, the trucks just starting going through overhaul or modification programs. The last to be built were Air Force contract trucks in the mid "80s. All A3 deuces where originally early A2s.

I believe the last year of the A2 is 1989. I do know for a fact they built A2s during 1987, as I have one.

A lot of early ones were converted to A2's. So, you could go 1949 to 1989.
