    From fire truck to MTV

Made up the covers for the electrical area, all quick to pull the off for full access. Mounted the control panels as well, the Victron unit, the Arduino screen and keypad, then the general use panel (phone charging, e-stop, cigarette plug, amp connectors). The largest black section is the heat...

    M1084A1 Refusing to Move

Not sure if it's the same with these, but the fire dept trucks broke shoes free much easier in reverse.

Had the fan kicking on at about 180f instead of 205 today

Never changed modes of CTIS and system seems to have no leaks (just tests the occasional 15 min pressure checks but no adjustments). Didn't hear a check either. Truck rarely kicks fan on after getting Eco hubs. Fan also kicked off after putting in reverse to to up driveway. Just figured I'd ask!

Had the fan kicking on at about 180f instead of 205 today

I've heard at 205 it kicks on, and that has been my experience. Today I was climbing the neighborhood hill and kids wanted full throttle so I obliged. About 5-10 sec later the fan kicked in. Temp was still about 180. Wondering if fan clutch may be controlled by other factors than just the...

    2006 M1083A1 6x6 Start up problems.

Not of you are in the north. Flooded lead acid, 2x could not start my truck on -12f. Agm might have been able to.

Victron system gives some really nice data. Dropped to 40°F in the evening the other day, from the time solar went away to it coming back the next morning, truck had lost 10% battery from running the heat. Batteries were back up to 100% by 10am. Seems the high efficiency of the heat pump and the...

Lots of cutting and grinding to fit the sink into a harbor freight tool chest.

Batteries have an air gap of several inches, they all have individual temp monitors inside as well. For forced airflow, I have speed and direction control of the heater matrix so if I need to cool, I can suck cool air over them, or turn on heater and reverse air flow if heating needed.

Took the truck to a kids birthday and gave him a ride home (he loves army stuff). Boys testing the electrical system. Learning how Node-Red works to set discharge limits on the batteries. Using this I can interface and control everything in pretty much any way I want. Finally got around to...

Fun milestone today, charging the electric truck from the....military hybrid diesel-electric truck? Try to guess our political leanings 😄 Lots of learning to do as there are tons of options with the Victron equipment. Generator and shore power inputs are up and running.

    From fire truck to MTV

Been working hard on the truck trying to get it done soon so we can go on adventures, haven't been taking many pictures though. Mcmaster and Amazon love me right now. The storage boxes came in, still need to mount them. I maxed out the size so need to be careful with clearances. All 24"tall...

I'm not adding up the costs as I go, that would ruin some of the fun!

    Hand pump overflow

Thanks for all the info! Reservoir ordered, I'll probably order new hoses too as I think they are original. Bleeding process is helpful, and with me changing 3 things at once, I'll have no idea which thing fixed it (fingers crossed it is fixed).

    Hand pump overflow

I'm wary a large reservoir will cover up a separate problem (hand pump would empty when I had the AOP and AOP reservoir would overflow) but it wouldn't hurt to have some extra volume. $42 for a larger reservoir-double the capacity. I'll give it a shot and I'll also try to bleed out the air in...

    Hand pump overflow

After raising the cab all the way, I've been able to use the tire hoist just fine, indicating enough fluid. Maybe I do have air bubbles messing this whole thing up. I removed the balls/springs from the tire hydraulic a while ago as I often had issues with them locking. They do make a reservoir...
