Pics of members rides in their parades

Nice pictures! Unfortunately the parades were all rained out here due to showers and thunderstorms. We had a really good streak for awhile - several years of sunny, warm Memorial Days! I did take my truck out the Saturday prior to Memorial Day to make a propane run though - some guys told me...

    Dead deuce

This just happened to me - my batteries went dead when I accidentally left the parking lights on the truck! It took about 3.5 days with 800 mA Battery Tenders to charge from zero to starting maintenance mode. However I did have power when I flipped the master electrical switch and was able to...

    Greasing a Deuce

How much grease should I expect to put into driveshaft slip joints? I've given them about six pumps each with a manual grease gun and I don't see anything coming out anywhere. Should I just keep dumping grease into the slip joint until it comes out somewhere?

    Old photos of 5 ton trucks - M813, M923

What are the delineator reflectors for? I've seen them on some trucks for sale stateside. Are they like slow-moving vehicle triangles?

Batteries Blew Up & Caused A Fire

That truck doesn't look too bad considering what happened! I think that insurance adjuster was a nut! That's too bad about the cargo cover. I hope whatever you get from the insurance payout helps cover the cost of a replacement 🤞

Batteries Blew Up & Caused A Fire

I think you did a good job with the insurance company. You'll get some parts money and keep the title clean - nice! I don't know how small claims court works outside of NY, but at least here it's $20 for a form and generally can't be more than a claim of $5000-$10000 depending on the filing...

Batteries Blew Up & Caused A Fire

Is the damage to the vehicle really worth $10k? From what you described I didn't think it would be that much. It's always an option to not go through insurance to the end, especially if the title is going to be affected. Also, I can't see why you can't sue the battery maintainer's...

Spare wheel/tire combination for M35A3 with 365s or 395s without getting another M35A3 rim?

@VPed I grew up helping ny dad restore a few WW2 and Korean War vehicles, so that's where I get it from :p I couldn't care less about improving comfort or drivability since I want that experience and to share it with others. Though it is nice to be fortunate enough to get the deuce with...

Spare wheel/tire combination for M35A3 with 365s or 395s without getting another M35A3 rim?

Good to know, thanks! No lockers on this truck. I'll plan on this and hope that I never have to use it!

Spare wheel/tire combination for M35A3 with 365s or 395s without getting another M35A3 rim?

Is that the tire diameter tolerance for the driveline, 1.5"? That sounds great - I should be able to get that rim-tire combination for under $500. From my research, I think this assembly should weigh under 250 lbs, which is something I can handle getting out of the truck bed, even better with...

Spare wheel/tire combination for M35A3 with 365s or 395s without getting another M35A3 rim?

I'm hesitant to do this for a couple reasons: 1) I'm trying to keep the truck as original as possible. I treat my truck like an antique sports car I'd restore :) It just wins slow races instead :p 2) Most of the posts I've read on here indicated that it's not safe to mount a 395 on an A2...

    Alternative Wire Marking Method

This is a great idea! In my experience heat shrink is indestructible in normal wiring applications, so I imagine these labels will last awhile. It's probably best to be sure that the label is well within the heat shrink, otherwise water may damage any exposed label edges and probably the...

Spare wheel/tire combination for M35A3 with 365s or 395s without getting another M35A3 rim?

As I'm driving my truck more I've been more conscious about carrying a usable spare tire on board. I have the original still mounted on its holder - an old Michelin 14.5R20 XL that still holds air, but it's smaller than the 395s I currently have mounted. I don't really want to use that for a...

Batteries Blew Up & Caused A Fire

I'm sorry this happened to you :( I have a pair of Deltran Battery Tenders and the worst failure I've had involved a battery tender just dropping dead - no explosion or anything. What you have looks similar to a pair of Harbor Freight chargers I purchased for charging dead batteries. I'd...

    I got a stupid question

Today I was checking the brake fluid on my truck. I always assumed the yellow stuff was DOT 5, but never knew for sure. So I tested it: Brake fluid sample from reservoir: Sample mixed with water: I stirred the beaker with the end of my turkey baster to see if the fluids would mix. Since...

M35A3 - Master Cylinder Remote Reservoir Fill Level

Thank you for sharing your experience! I know that brake fluid tends to expand and contract when it gets warm, but I'm not sure how DOT 5 handles it. I guess it doesn't get affected much, especially in a deuce 🤷‍♂️ My other daily drivers have fill lines that are well below the bottom of the...

I don't think anyone's tried that with me yet - my sixth sense hasn't tingled!

M35A3 - Master Cylinder Remote Reservoir Fill Level

According to the PMCS, I need to make sure the brake fluid reservoir on my truck is filled to a "bottom ring". I'm just not sure what that "ring" is. Is it one of the casting loop seams on the top of the reservoir? Something I'm missing where the reservoir caps go on? I've always made sure...
