ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

Attached PDF's, too. Download and then zoom at will, (most browsers will allow you to 'right-click' on an image opening a menu with a choice to open in another 'tab' or save as and then zoom at will) This site's image handling is challenging in my opinion–

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

Sure. You want to see the same sheet with variable tire height: 53", 48", 45", 40"

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

I can see that. If I redid the chart for the shift points it would illustrate your point better. I will be watching your experience with the lockers when you start that thread. I haven't noticed you or @Keith Knight complaining about traction on adventures, is it a bigger issue than I think?

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

Here is a spreadsheet (a photo of one) showing the various crawl ratios/mph for 3.90, 3.07, EcoHubs or not. I agree the 3.90's are best with what we currently have and 4.5's with EcoHubs would be cruising 63 at 1,600 rpm in seventh. That would be the sweet spot—

    Cab Latch Rebuild Kit

I thought @Towbarman was asking about the air over hydraulic cab latch (locking the tilt), not door latches which break all the time?

brackets for two alternators -- suggestions

In looking at in the wild units (though none from the CUCV's) it requires: 1— custom static bracket for both alternators, as @GeneralDisorder alludes to; 2— belt(s) running from each alternator to a tension pulley between the alternators. With the layout of the front of a 3116 it appears that...

brackets for two alternators -- suggestions

Do you have an example to share of this in the wild? What about sell one alternator and add an intelligent battery combiner, like we use in yachts to prioritize charging the starter batteries and keep the cabin batteries up second?

    Road Trip - UT/AZ Again

Beautiful pictures. Thanks for sharing. I think we just missed each other. I was at Grand Canyon NP, Whimore Wash 1May - 3May; a night in the Arizona Strip south of Kanab; BLM land between Escalante Grand Staircase NM, The Gulch and Capitol Reef NP, Waterpocket Fold 4May - 7May. Back in...

    M1078A1 "Pandora" Build | 2024-??? | ***Picture Heavy***

As I recall I was struggling to get the dimensions for that Leece-Neville pad mount unit and found very few examples of a CAT 3126b using a pad mount so stuck with the J180 version. My biggest concern was aligning the alternator's pulley with the serpentine belt route. Likely a better question...

Does the PPD do more than reverse polarity protect ? Modern replacement for PPD ?

Others are best at the math, though we have decided to mount a rooftop 24v AC unit on the cab which adds a 'new' 70a at max. [@GeneralDisorder and I have had several conversations upon this and I understand his points well. If we find a complete RedDot Gen2 kitted unit I'd likely purchase it...

Does the PPD do more than reverse polarity protect ? Modern replacement for PPD ?

Great thread and work. The photographs are helpful. We headed a similar, though different path than you and @MatthewWBailey with ours in this thread. Pulled out the LBCD and remote disconnect relays, swapped in a 24v 200a alternator and mounted a Victron 24v/12v 70a converter to the inside of...

    New LMTV owner

Welcome to the club. Post a photo of your unit. Edited: @Mullaney is correct, hooking up even one of the Dearborn units with generic software to the diagnostic plug will read the serial numbers for the engine and transmission. If you are doing your own work you will need the diagnostic gear in...

    LMTV Allison Stall Test issues

I like the Bluefire while driving, though it doesn't pickup a lot of information that could turn an iPad or Surface into a glass dash. No air pressures, voltages, CEL, for example. A lot of potential, though with limited information shared on the J1708/1939 from the CTIS, chassis, CAT ECU and...
