I would assume that air bags would allow more frame flex (which you want) rather than more solid mounts. However, that's just a guess since I haven't really paid attention to how the stock cab mounts are on my truck :razz:

I just went out (in the -2 degree weather.. lol) and took a look at my tractor. A V-shaped lower hull going from the base of the cab sides to the center of the truck is certainly possible, though it would take quite a bit of work. And you could only protect the back 2/3 of the cab, because of...

I'm curious.. Where do you get laminated armored glass from? And are there any restrictions on private individuals purchasing it?

Awesome thread 8) Definitely looking forward to seeing the end result :) I really love the look of that extended cab armored truck.. That's just SWEET. If I ever set one up like that I would skip the gun mount up top though. Would probably look good in a tractor version too ;) I like the way...
