Mark, it's the sudden increase that hurts, imagine your fuel price doubling within a couple of years....it's not unusual to spend $1,000/month on fuel here, that's more than most mortgage (house) payments. Wages can't keep up with it.

Guess sombody discovered that diesel has higher heating value (more BTUs/gallon) than gas and decided to charge accordingly. Those prices makes a person ill. (barfing smilie here)
