CO appears to be a one party consent state (per: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telephone_recording_laws#United_States), so as long as the OP is a party to the conversation, he can record it and use it in a court of law.

Sounds like an excellent plan. Is this stock Asterisk code, or something you have put together? If we switch phone systems at work (at least a few years down the road), that would be something I would like to tie in.

So, how would an incoming radio call work (ie: someone on a handheld wants to talk to "base" and differentiating that traffic from "handheld" to "handheld" traffic), or will this be transmit only and receive would be via a PA speaker?

Get the 24v one, replace the line with synthetic and sell the steel to offset the cost of the synthetic?

I agree. I know that with the current LED light bars on the NY State Police vehicles, they are bright enough that you are blinded after you get past the lightbar and it would be almost impossible to see someone step out from in front of the vehicle at night.

Please get a certified class 3 vest, its only a few bucks more, but a class 3 vest has 100 more square inches of reflective material than a class 2 vest (~300square inches vs ~200) and adds reflective armbands. IMO, it is well worth the little extra cost over a class 1 or 2.
