Modified HF Truck bed crane M35A2

Probably so, only up to two videos on that engine swap so far. The biggest down time is constantly waiting on parts to come in the mail

Modified HF Truck bed crane M35A2

Added some boom length to make it MUCH more useful. Last update on this project. Truck is currently down for a big block chevy swap. Next i'll be looking for a larger crane for the bed.

    Electronic tachometer conversion??????

I gave up on that idea and ordered a GPS controlled speedometer that shows zero to 60. Took a minute to find it because most go to 120 mph

    M35A2 tachometer cable info needed.

what is the thread pitch on the engine side of the drive cable for the tachometer. Im needing to know so i can place an order for and adapter that will attach to the drive, and convert to use a standard electric tachometer. I already know the drive ration is 2:1 so there is no issue there.

Wanted .222 ratio speedo gear for 395’s

Im looking for one as well, just not ever handing someone over $200 for one. If i cannot locate one i may just use an aftermarket GPS speedometer and be done with it.

Speedometer recalibration gears, who has them?

Ok so i just put larger tires on the old girl and man does it improve a lot of things on the truck dong so. At 45 mph on the once correct speedometer im now actually going 52 mph. Truck is a M35A2 with 15.5/80R20s now on it. Same as a 395.

454 will replace multi fuel in m35a2?

not my video but a big block chevy can bolt up to the 3053a and fits nicely in the m35a2. With stock everything you would be at 3200 rpm at 65mph. Perfectly fine with a BBC

454 will replace multi fuel in m35a2?

good to know, but im going to hold out till i find a commercial truck with 454/427 and air brakes. Would make life a LOT easier. Might get lucky and get the whole truck at a good price, then rob the power steering too. Id also prefer not to deal with an automatic. Would love a 7 speed with od...

454 will replace multi fuel in m35a2?

i know where i can get a running motor home with a 454 and turbo 400 running and driving for $600 right now. Really thinking about it. Would make the truck cruise at 65 mph no problem due to being just fine at 3,500 rpm. Maybe less depending on the OD ratio of the 400 auto. Dont know what ratio...

454 will replace multi fuel in m35a2?

Raising this post from the dead. Just would like to know if either of the BBC swaps talked about in this thread ever came to completion. I to have thought about this, being as (2021) one can find a old motorhome or medium duty truck with a BBC and many choices of transmission for $500-$1500...

Modified HF Truck bed crane M35A2

I think this is my first thread on here but I wanted to show off the current state of my home fabbed crane. It started as one of the harbor freight cranes, but i added a winch, pulleys, and better under bed reinforcement that it came with. Next im going to buy some 2-1/4 receiver hitch tubing...

Curt receiver hitch for the Deuce, 18,000lb/1,800lb

they are expensive, but the first time you use one, you will never drill metal with a normal bit again. Takes about 10-15 seconds to drill a 5/8 hole in any truck frame. Use a center punch like you would a normal drill bit, and the spring loaded guid in the center will hold it there. Once thru...
