So, if I read this right, the 6.2/6.5 engines, while similar to a small block in displacement, are actually more like a big block in external dimensions?

So, a "normal" gas engine block could not be converted to run on diesel, even with new heads, etc?

I have a general question about the gm diesel engines used in these trucks, perhaps someone knows the answer. Does the 6.2 or 6.5 diesel share a common block or any other parts with any other gm gas engines? It seems to me there was at one time a way to convert a gas 350 into a diesel, similar...

Does anyone have any info, or maybe even pictures, of any Navy M715's? I'd like to do a J-cab M-715 in haze gray one of these days, just wondered if they were ever actually used that way.
