Make sure you insulate the firewall.
I used the silver covered bubble wrap stuff in mine, and it worked wonders. to finish it off, I used 3M spray adhesive and coated it with OD canvas.

interesting...I am having the same issues, I noticed that if I leave the flasher on for a while, the lights will be steady...then start to blink....after that, they seem to work fine...but is like they need to warm up or something before the lights will blink...

You can get 3 on a 16' car trailer with them all pointed forward....with the toung over the toung of the trailer.
I used an 18' trailer here and you can see there is more than 2' of extra trailer.
So...per your previous quote...no spring flying out and taking your head off right...:shock:
