    MEP 016d fuel delivery issue

I have not been able to find an NSN for the "fuel strainer" on my gennie. I have searched all the 016 TM's I could find, and some 021 TM's. It's a clear glass bowl connected directly to the 3-way valve. It has a screen on it, but mine did not have a paper filter inside. Anyone have any idea...

    MEP 016d fuel delivery issue

I bench tested the pump and it worked great. Hooked it back up to the gennie and no love. So I bypassed the tank selector valve and hooked the pump directly to the belly tank and it filled the day tank without issues. After that I pulled the selector valve off and found it completely plugged...

    MEP 016d fuel delivery issue

Yep, the white ball moved freely. I'm guessing the pump motor itself is out based on the noise it makes. I dont believe the top end is serviceable as its sealed up. I guess I'll order a new pump. I'm just going to get an inexpensive low volume 24v pump.

    MEP 016d fuel delivery issue

I rigged up 24v this evening and applied it directly to the pump. The pump kicked on and made noise, but didnt actually move any fuel (and didn't sound very healthy. Not sure if that's normal though as you cant hear it with the gennie running.) I removed it and opened it up as far as I thought...

    MEP 016d fuel delivery issue

I had 5mins this evening and was able to verify continuity across the float switch while the tank was empty. I assume this means the float switch is good. Tomorrow I am hoping to finalize the gennie install, the interlock kit arrived today. And I'll also try and rig up a couple of batteries to...

    MEP 016d fuel delivery issue

Tks guyfang, I'll snap some pics this evening when I get home. Should the float be passing continuity when low on fuel? Wondering if that's an easy way to test the float for function.

    MEP 016d fuel delivery issue

My trusty MEP 016-d quit on me during a power outage this evening. Upon examination I found that the belly tank was full, but the small tank on top was empty, so it wasn't transferring fuel. I read several threads saying the rectifier on the fuel pump is known to go bad and can be safely...

    MEP 016c connection help

I think I can power just the necessities of my house (well pump and fridge) with this gennie. But I need to get 120/240 out of it for that to work. I understand to jumper the connections, from there L0 should connect to the house neutral?

    MEP 016c connection help

I haven't run any other loads. I have tested the convenience outlets with the multimeter and have good power on them. Mains power is disconnected via the cutoff breaker at the top of the box. I am feeding power in via a 240v breaker on the panel. Once I jumped ground to L0, I did NOT connect...

    MEP 016c connection help

I've read through countless threads here and on smokestack and cant find a solution. I'm trying to hook my mep016c up to my house. I've disconnected mains power, and have connected a jumper from L0 to the frame ground. I am getting ~120v on BOTH L1 and L2. I am running L1 and L2 to each of my...

    Stuck Winch

I thought about that, but since it was a question mark vs a period, I went with gerhardt advice and jacked up one tire. Sure enough it spun slowly as it came off the ground and I was then able to put the truck in neutral. That allowed me to get thr PTO shaft to turn enough I could put the winch...

    Stuck Winch

I tried pushing the clutch in and turning the PTO shaft, no joy there. I'll have to try jacking up the rear axle tomorrow. That's a good suggestion.

    Stuck Winch

I used my deuce today to winch my bro's truck and trailer. After getting him back on the asphalt I moved my deuce and heard an unhappy crunch sound. I immediately parked the truck and shut it down to inspect. Sure enough the lever slipped in the cab and it tightened down on itself. Now with...

RTH No Longer NEEDED - was stuck on I5 in NorCal

Issue has been identified as a bad oil cooler - cracked and spraying fluid. Anyone have one that can be borrowed, or know where one can be sourced locally?
