Ike,
Thanks for the info. I think I'll keep the MEP-016E as a backup, and use the 701A as the primary. If anything happens to the 701A, then I'll consider moving the engine from the 016E to it.
I haven't run my 701A yet, as I haven't had time to order filters for it. Would you...
Correction --- the ASK enclosures fit the B/E (not D).
Derf --- do you know if the ASK is different for the E than the B? I have a B with ASK, and E w/o. I'd prefer to keep/use the E with the ASK if possible, as the Yanmar engine is more common, and easier to get parts for if necessary.
It sounds like the reconnect switch is set to 120/240 single phase.
If you're trying to get voltage out of all three phases, set it to 208 3 phase.
The reconnect switch is inside the control panel (the front of the control panel hinges down).
The convenience outlet should be hardwired to L1...
How many did you get? I have an EUC in for a genset at Mechanicsburg from last week. If it isn't too many, and I have enough room, I might be able to pick them up for you, then you have a little more flexibility with your trip to come get them. I try not to bid on anything further than...
I didn't win any, but put low-ball bids in on all of them. They went a good bit higher than I thought. Granted; they are rebuilt, but you can buy a whole MEP-002a for that price.
Are you keeping them or selling them (a spare 0-hour engine would be a nice thing to have for an 002).
You occasionally see the (civilian) Yanmar generators for decent prices, used. New they're $2-4k depending on size, I've seen them as low as $400. The made them in 2kw, 3.5kw, and 5.5kw sizes.
The Yanmar civil units, and the MEP's Isaac mentioned above, are likely no quieter than the...
The MEP-016B and MEP-701A (which is an MEP-016B w/ ASK) use a 1-cylinder Onan diesel engine, not the 4A032.
The entire genset (frame, gen head, control box, etc) is different than the 4A032 powered units. There is another MEP-016 variant, the MEP-016D, which is essentailly a MEP-016A/C...
The one picture that you posted stated "JP5 fueled". I would guess that it'll run on Diesel or kerosene too.
Is it a piston-engine or turbine powered thing?
Bummer! To bad you didn't get a chance to test the gen-end. A 10kw 3 phase gen-end definitely has some value.
Check Saturn surplus, you might be able to get the cam and other required parts from them.
I think that the inclusion of the words Kohler and Deere were just typical keyword spam.
The idea with keyword spam is to get your including in search results for desired products, even though you are selling a not-so-desired product.
This kind of crap is on CL as well. I recently...
no worse than GL
Sounds like some of the GL listings.
I've seen MEP113A's listed as MEP103A's, unless the pictures are wrong -- I've seen that too. One GL auction that ended yesterday listed an MEP002a or MEP003a (I forget which one, CRS strikes again), but the picture was a 6.2L GM V8...
I have plenty of confidence my F350 can stop a loaded trailer in the dry, esp. with a few thousand pounds of firewood in the back of the truck, providing more down force on the rear axle. The problem comes in if the road is wet, or otherwise slippery, then you definitely want braking on all...
I'm liking the M101 (A1 and above) better and better. I looked at your avatar, and it isn't so much dump as tilt for loading, which would be great for garden tractors, ATV's etc. I'm esp. interesting knowing that it is an 8' bed.
I'm also thinking it might be really cool to add a...
