CUCV alternators - I'm still confused

Thanks, but using that number and a search online all I can get is the rebuilt alts, I want the parts for the rebuild. I know the voltage regulator is what's bad in mine, but I figured while I had it open I should check on what else "usually" gets replaced when they rebuild them. And I've yet to...

    M1009 rear brakes

Well I could care less about the parking brake, but what about it sticking when it just has a trailer in tow?

    M1009 rear brakes

I looked in the TM and it doesn't realy help with my problem. The other day I used the parking brake and ever since the rear drum on the drivers side seems to be "sticking." I tore it down and shrank the adjuster so they wouldn't be touching the drum itself. Now I can tell that every time I hook...

    radio help

My guess is your lighter plug is getting power from: the second battery, or the battery rail on the firewall or the hot wire to the starter relay.

    radio help

Even if it is still 24 volts the front battery will still give you 12 volts, but your best bet will be to get it from the keyed plugs on the fuse panel, that way the radio won't kill your battery when you get out of your truck.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Roscommon 12 volt conversion, new gear reduction starter, moved the drivers side alt to the passenger side to "fix" it, new belt for the alternator. Started Beautifully...

    M1009 12 volt

I was looking at the wiring diagram in the TM, and then also looking at the CUCV Article and in the article it says if you need to convert to a 12 volt starter that the wire under the dash needs to have the purple w/white connected to the red wire. Why? Shouldn't it be the purple w/white to the...

    Bilstein Shocks

Make sure you get the shocks for the 1 ton trucks, they have a different sleve where the shock mounts on the top. Somebody before me changed the ones on the front of my M1009 and now they're worn out and need replaced.

First post, looking at a really nice Alaskan M1009 and M1008 help deciding!!

    Got my treadwright tires in....

How well do they do in the snow? I have a feeling I will be needing a new set of sneakers for my M1009 in the near future and the tread pattern on these looks like they should do well.
