Anyone have a fuel pump push rod break in half?

I had a 1984 K10 with a 305 in it and I broke mechanical fuel pumps left and right. I finally put in a electric pump but had problems with that, I thought. That was later tracked down to a distributor issue. The issue with the mechanical pumps was that the push rod itself was the problem...

Average cost for a CUCV from GL

I think it really depends on your location also. Here in NE Iowa I had mine on Craigs, advertised locally and word of mouth. After a month I only had one person call on it. It was a 1009, had some rust on it, had newer tires, been my daily driver, all the improvements recommended here done...

    M1028 glow plug question

A quick question. If you watch Antennaclimbers video in the GP Operation sticky. You see the wait light go out, he hits the switch to simulate starting the rig. If you look at the gp's they show power still being supplied during the start cycle. I have a voltmeter on the load side of my gp...

    M1009 won't start

Try turning the motor over by hand with a bar and a 15/16" socket. Mine will do the same thing once in awhile but I've got the bracket in place. I don't know why it does it, only that it does it at the worst possible time. Maybe that will get you going for now.

    cucv wont start sometimes

If it's getting to the engaged position shouldn't it be turning the motor?

    cucv wont start sometimes

I'm in the same place. I let one of my boys use it one night. I got a call to tell me it was dead. I hadn't told him about the issue and he ended up killing the front battery. So we crawled under her, rolled it an 1/8 turn and heard the starter click back. Hooked up the jumper cables to the...

    cucv wont start sometimes

My 1986 09 does the same thing. I've had the unit for about three years and it's done it since day one. I've done searches on here but haven't found anybody with the same problem. In a sick way I'm happy to see somebody else has this issue. I've checked the flywheel, (teeth all there, bolts...

    Sticking throttle shaft

My 09 did this awhile back. What happened was the throttle cable started to fray at the IP. I see you say you already checked it. I had looked at mine it but it wasn't noticeable right away. It started out just taking a split second longer to slow down when you took your foot off the...

    BOSCH Duraterm Glow Plugs

As I said earlier I had the Bosch plugs in for about a year. Long story short, I pulled them out, found 1 operational. Put in the 60G's again, because they were on hand in the area. Through another thread figured out that my glow plug card is giving me a fit. It's been operating that way...

My Glow Plug System Dilemma....AntennaClimber this is for you...:)

An update on my 09. I was having longer start-ups than I was happy with so I decided to replace the plugs with 60g’s. The Bosch’s were a couple of years old so I thought it wouldn’t hurt anything. I had checked the resistance of the plugs in the motor a month or so ago and they tested between...

My Glow Plug System Dilemma....AntennaClimber this is for you...:)

I installed a voltmeter, 12v, on the output of my gpr so I could monitor the voltages. I have done the resistor bypass so it's just the 12 volts supplying the relay. I saw that I was only getting about 9-10 volts at the turn of the key. As seconds passed the voltage would increase to just...

    Very strange "Tink" Noise

Awhile back I had a tinking noise every once in awhile. It drove me nuts trying to find it. I finally took off the rear tires and drums. Then I found on one side the springs had broken that held the shoe in place. So when the conditions were right the shoe was in there bouncing around...

    Tilt Steering Column Swap questions...

I did the swap a few weeks ago and it was pretty straight forward. Pull out, bolt in. It came from my "donor" rig so I already had the key so that was another bonus for doing the swap. However, the plugs on the upper side of the column that are right together, need to be turned 180 degrees...

Glow Plug Relay Only Thing Missing?

I'm located about 70 miles south of you with a running 1009. If it would help you, take a little trip and look over the wiring on mine. Let me know if you're interested.

    Cucv steering column

After looking at the wiring schematic again the park switch and the lo of the wipers share a ground wire connection. I saw if before but thought how could that affect this but........... I'll try cleaning that up and see if it helps. Thanks!

    Cucv steering column

I know you said it's a few years ago that you did it so I just want to double check on a couple of things. You said the 2 wire plug that goes into the wiper motor. The actual plug for the wiper control is a 3 wire plug. The park switch and the washer pump are each two wire plugs. I've...
