Tatra MTVR Prototype M923A1 - Tatra 815 Frankenstein

Now that I look at some of my test pics (it was a while ago)...there is another problem with the US style military wheels..there are a few different ways of centering the wheel and the Tatra uses a different style (of course). So you are looking at wheel mods and stud/nut differences. Hope that...

Tatra MTVR Prototype M923A1 - Tatra 815 Frankenstein

You probably could switch to 16:00R20 Wheels and tires. I tried some Alu Hutchinsons...they bolt up but the only problem was marrying it to my CTIS. So I chose the path of least resistance and picked up these 21's cheap and kept stock wheels. If you don't have CTIS the switch may be quite easy...

Tatra MTVR Prototype M923A1 - Tatra 815 Frankenstein

I have some friends on the Canadian Oil patch running 2 of the 8x8 Tatra. They say nothing will keep up to them in the bush in the winter. It's a suspension many other trucks wish they had. I wish I had a tubeless version of this stock wheel. The whole tube thing was a pain in keester. As a...

Tatra MTVR Prototype M923A1 - Tatra 815 Frankenstein

Looks like it's running them kooky 16:00 R21 tires like I'm using (original Tatra wheels) w/tubes. Don't forget the oil in the hubs...It probably has planetary reductions...very spendy to fix.

Who has a TATRA in U.S.A.

There may be another 8x8 815 kolos (double cab) in the USA with some kind of motorhome built on the back. Was for sale on here a few years ago.

Best way to wire up a RAK15 ration heater?

Yes,.. with the "one-shot boil" I believe the control board is different. The ebay vendor in Australia sent me a new one. So I will plug that one in and see what transpires... Thanks for your help!

Best way to wire up a RAK15 ration heater?

I've got the RAK/4 hooked up to a SINGCARS power supply. The /4 model has a one shot boil and has 3 indicator lights. It boiled the water but my top light is red-which according to the manual indicates a fault condition. I'm giving it 27 volts through the power supply so it's not low voltage...

Engine replacement for MAN KAT 6x6

Unless you are doing the wrenching yourself my experience has been the less modified, the better. Here is a dealer in Europe who may be able to help...He has sold a lot of those trucks I think: https://www.padh.de/home.html

Best way to wire up a RAK15 ration heater?

I think one of my trucks has the 3 pin outlet; my Zeppelin shelter has them I'm almost sure. The ones from Cole-Parmer show a 3 pin to 2 pin and other variations...I will need to confirm what I've got but finding the hot wire is a good start. Wasn't that one cable mentioned over $300.00USD...

Best way to wire up a RAK15 ration heater?

Dragging up the dead thread here... I looked at RAK manuals online and could not find which of the 3 pins carry the 24V and or ground. Per notes above the hot wire is "A" and...The 0 value pin you mention above (B) I am assuming that means ground? Thanks for any help on these-I may just call...

    My Tatra T815 VT 8x8

Hey now...I did a 10,000 km trip and drove it a little faster than it likes..AKA..95-100 kph at times...It really likes 85 kph. With that said I'm getting roughly 6 US miles per gallon. For an almost 40,000 lb. vehicle (including camperised Zeppelin container/ shelter) I don't think it's that...

    My Tatra T815 VT 8x8

I think northstar is correct-but I bet if you wanted it Tatra could put rear steer on an 8x8. Just a question of $$$.

    My Tatra T815 VT 8x8

Hey Francis, Congratulations! Those ain't no old military buckets by the looks of them. Those look brand new-or close to it! (facelifts?) And it looks like you are on your way to the holy trinity of off-road vehicles. Unimog, Tatra...(in my case it's a Hagglunds BV206 6 cylinder)... (but I know...
