Please keep us up to date, thanx.
Planning to replace th400/np208 on my M1009 with a 4l85e/np241c vss.
PS: checked the painless performance site:

Hey guys,
bought this TC togehter with a th400.
The owner said, that this combo is from a K5.
It has a 32 spline input shaft and has exact the same lenght like my NP208.
It has an electric speed sensor.
Unfortunately the tag on the TC is not there.
At the beginning, I thought its a NP241, but...
Thank you very much @cucvrus for your words.
I will remove the rust and grime, clean everything, polish the gears, as good as I can, rebuild it with a master kit and run with this original gears :)
Hey guys,
I bought a GM 10.5 14bff with a detroit locker in it and 4.56 gears, which was in a M1008, for my M1009.
Disassambled it and saw rust on one of the teeth :(
I want to rebuiuld it, so it doesnt make sense, to run it with rusted gears, so I need to order new gear set (want to stay...

I have ordered a special hose for hot ATF oils (sorry, its in german):
http://www.daimex.de/gx2/product_info.php?info=p28_oelschlauch---8x14mm.html
But I think the bottleneck would be not the hose, rather the clamps, right?
Now, you make me bit nervous.
Are...
Ya, I have searched today for such fittings, but not easy to find.
Will this one work for me (SAE 45 Inverted Flare Female, 3/8" x 1/2-20) for the hardline side...
Hey guys, I know its a old one, but I dont want create a new thread. I hope its OK for you.
Would like to add also an external cooler like 'Shankem-Deep' it did.
But I have some doubts about this connection here:
I could imagine, this is something like a break line (double flare or so?)...
Thank you all for the informations.
I will try to conclude:
* use the dropped pitman arm, makes stress to the steering box.
* Use the raised steering arm, makes the bumpsteer worser, because of the axle wrap during brake operations.
* Use crossover, moves the axle left and right during turn...
M1009: 4" lift - draglink geometry correction- dropped pitman / raised steering arm?
Good morning together,
my M1009 has a 4" leaf springs in the front without any steering components corrections done.
I have installed a dropped pitman (should give theoretically 2" of drop) arm yesterday, to...
Have bought this tools for the job:

2) Pliers to bend the lines...
The problem with the germans is, that they always 'overingeneer' things and make thousands of standards :(
Thank you for the name of the tool cucvrus ;)
Hey guys,
need to replace also my brake lines in the rear (M1009 original 10 Bolt).
As i understood, lines are 3/16 and nuts 3/8-24 (unc or unf?).
Are the flares then DIN or SAE standard?
Will this tool work for this job (just as example)...
