I understand your wanting to fix it. Heck, I'm trying to get the clicks for the cover which may turn out to be easier than iI thought.
I looked at the pics and my recommendation may be based on being able to see what damage you are talking about. I based it on the outward ripples on the side...
I know you may not like it but if that was the worst thing on my trailer I''d take it and call it a day.
You might be able to "tap" it flat with a mallet.
Make up some story about it being an IED mark.
I had the pleasure of buying an M813 that the air pack was bad. The truck would stop but like Guyfang says, you plan and look miles in front of you for where you might have to stop and your legs will get a work out. In my case Gimpy drove it home for me and I ran chase. ;-)
When we put it...
@Baloo Not to pick at nits here but looking for advice on LMTVs might get more help if it were not in a 9 year old New Member post.
But I could be wrong.
I have a line on some but it will be two months or so at least.
The reason it is so hard to get them is that the minimum order may be thousands at a time. But I'm closer.
Well, if your picture is correct then 8-lug wheels won't fit you 5-lug hubs. You answer is now, you can't just swap wheels. You could get a new axle from eTrailer and massage it under there.
About the tongue, here is a pic of my M1102 I just got last month. Obviously my other pintle is still...
I sold one to a coworker for hauling firewood and he has loaded it so full the rubber bumpers underneath touched the frame. BTW i'm guessing it was well over 3klbs.
M101A2 has a General Motors 8-bolt pattern. The A1 has the M37 5-bolt.
Easier to get spares for the A2. I just went to a junkyard up the stree and got a wheel and tire for mine. Like $35.
It looks like you have an M101A1. No surge brake is a big clue along with the weight on the data plate. I'd like to see a pic of the wheel showing the lug pattern.
I normally don't think of Ebay and this time was no exception. I found some there. Thank you for reminding me.
Little pricy but if you want any what else do you do. ;-)
