Can’t hear Fuel Pump but still starts

And, it will really make it hard to start after a fuel filter change.............don't ask me how I know.

    In tank lift pump

Would I be better off just pulling the old pump out and running a longer hose in the tank?

    In tank lift pump

That carter pump looks good and is priced right. How do you hook it up to the truck lines without it leaking? Just ordered some exhaust pipes from Summit and could have had it shipped free (LOL). Yes, did check the fuse, juice getting to pump. Thanks

    In tank lift pump

Found out my in-tank fuel pump quit after changing my fuel filters.............not the best time to find this out. Got her running, she starts and runs well but still want a lift pump. After pricing them just feel that they are crazy high............heqq, it's just a little electric...

    Stuck brake hose fittings

Am headed to town tomorrow and will pick up a set of flair wrenches and some Free-All. Have not destroyed the flats on the brass nuts yet (which is my usual MO). Good suggestions, Thanks

    Stuck brake hose fittings

I had thought of cutting the line and getting a box end wrench on it (brass fittings), but your idea is better. Just hate to cut the line as there is no going back and am CDL (combat dead lined) for real. May have to do it if no other solution comes up. Thanks.

    Stuck brake hose fittings

Wanted to crack the fittings on the rear brake hoses (am replacing them) before soldier #2 showed up to help bleed the brakes. The hoses are at least 100 years old (yeah, on a 50-year-old truck). Was only able to break one of the four nuts lose, two per hose of course, the three others will...

    Rear Brake Lock up

Update, while waiting for the "flex" lines, pulled all the rear wheels using the caveman method. Shoes looked good, new grease, and adjust. Put new fuel filters on, old ones realy needed replaced (think that they caused the reae brakes to lockup...LOL). Today was cool, took her for a test...

    Rear Brake Lock up

Rusty, Yes, just one air pack. I felt the front hubs when she was acting up, they seemed just "normal" warm. Needed to move her yesterday A.M. and she rolled freely. Will order the two rear hoses and hope for the best and it's the cheapest fix. You're up early on a Saturday! Thanks

    Rear Brake Lock up

Rusty, Am not sure of the difference, but it is the old style long air pack.

    Rear Brake Lock up

    With air pressure or not?

    Rear Brake Lock up

Ahso.....................sounds like a bad brake line.......................started the old gal up this A.M. and all was good. Your suggestion sounds right as this problem could come and go, and more liky to happen when it's hot. The air pack was replaced just before I got her, 6 years ago...

    Rear Brake Lock up

Left home and thought the brake pedal was a bit high but am old and was tired and though it was just me. Picked up a load of hay and got ten miles down the road, looked out my rear-view mirror and saw smoke. Pulled off to the side and smoke was coming off all four rear wheels. Not much I...
