Ordered a pinion guard last night from Barnes 4wd it cost 61$ shipped and with new bolts, hopefully will be here before this weekend, will take pics when installed.
I agree with that but this will be a slow process due to time and money, but since I will have it apart anyway I figured it would be a good time to add this little bit of protection that doesn't cost a whole lot.
Have a question and since I started this thread seems an appropriate place to ask. I'm going to have to replace my pinion seal in my rear axle and I thought about adding a pinion guard since I will have it apart. suggestions on brands? Is this all I may need? Other options? Has any one here put...
I work shipping in a factory with electric tow motors and we usually get stuck once a week out side. We just hook a chain to my Cucv and pull them out no problem, pretty sure I wouldn't been able to budge that one tho, nice job.
Hauled some old fence posts today.
Ran across a scale near my house and it read 8720 lbs truck was barely squated, some may say cruel and unusual punishment for not winning MV of the month, I say a good workout (for me and the truck).
All of my gear including the one spare will be in the bed until the space is needed then tire, jack and whatever else I have can be throne on the roof, this way it'll all be locked up and out of the elements most of the time. I also plan on doing rock sliders, can they be bought for these trucks...
Been thinking of doing something like this to my M1028, thoughts, opinions, downsides, or ideas. More pictures of this truck or other trucks like this would be great.
Hit 80 today in a 55 according to the speedo (accurate at 55) behind a 12 valve Cummins (couldn't let him out run me) afraid to hit the curves that fast but he was to.
