    Fuel gauge help

He didn't swap the ground wire. In your diagram, he swapped the red wire with the blue wire.

    Battery Box area

My M1114 is the same way. The seat pretty much covers it, but I wouldn't want to drop anything metal down there. I think it's just the way they are built. I've done some research and found the M1113/M1114 have a different seat base/battery cover than all the other variants. May just be something...

    HMMWV Rocking

Just drive your truck on dirt 100% of the time like I do. Then you can slide to a stop every time. It's fun!

    Horn issues

Just curious, did you try turning on the brake lights using the 3 position light switch? I know my truck does not enable the horn if the light switch is off.

    Serpentine Belt

Mine was also disconnected. I found the male nipple on the fan clutch side was missing and had to replace it first. To do all that, I jammed my hands through the fan blade. Someone here later said it would have been easier to reach it from the underside of the truck. Oh, I reread your post and...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

I flushed my M1114's radiator yesterday and removed a bunch more butchered wires and hoses.

Runflat removal and install - some good and bad

From memory, I believe the runflat states which side is supposed to be the "outside". It's written on the sidewall. So the "outside" would face the smaller wheel piece when it's being reassembled.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Yes, kinda. It's the first from GovPlanet. I did have an EUC and SF97 on my 1978 M35A2 back in 2009 through GovLiquidation.

Looking for used ECV front springs

You could try posting this in the Wanted section of the forums. I had luck with parts there.

M1114 mystery cut cables and wiring questions

Good to know. i have the same abandoned wires still attached on my truck.

    Gunner seat belt removal

I removed mine yesterday as well. Start with the forward bolt. It took a bit of torquing to break free. (a lot of torque actually) Once it was off, the plate over the belt can be removed and you have access to the back bolt. It wasn't as tough as the first. I put the bolts back in once the belt...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

I got my SF-97 notice of mailing yesterday on my ex-Marines M1114. So times are about 10 weeks if anyone is curious about current processing times.

First time Humvee owner, lifetime admirer w/ a Q...

Welcome to the site! I've found these trucks much easier to work on than a modern vehicle with all of its computers and emissions equipment. Plus there are TM's a plenty to help with diagnosis and repairs. My biggest issue so far has been finding the correct TM in a timely fashion. But that's...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Today I did the first oil change to my M1114. Super easy! I love these trucks are basically old school technology. I also replaced the fuel gauge and aired the tires. Still need to Dremel the paddle lock left on the anti theft device located under the dash. It's a Master Lock so it may never...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

What I did to my HMMWV today was secure the batteries, install a gasket at the air filter canister, secure the TCM and finally figured out it's impossible to attach the latches at the top of the doghouse. Also I drove my now running M1114 to the gas station for some fresh diesel.

    The unbreakable tire bead.

It's never supposed to come off the bead with 0 air pressure. The run flat holds the tire in place.
