Fuel injector Rebuilding/testing and TM and compression testing

I gave my hydraulic hose shop a piece of injector line from a deuce which they cut and spliced that to a hose. I told them it could be around 3600 PSI and then they worked their magic on the connection to the pop tester.

Fuel injector Rebuilding/testing and TM and compression testing

Update: I used this adapter I made and it works great.

Fuel injector Rebuilding/testing and TM and compression testing

I recently took an old injector (shim style injector) and made it into a compression tester. I took the guts out of it, cut about 3/8 off the end of the nozzle (so it had a bigger hole), welded the high pressure line port shut and then will use the 1/8" NPT port to hook to the compression...

Fuel injector Rebuilding/testing and TM and compression testing

How much compression would the multifuel test at? I haven't seen anywhere that had the specs on what the compression test pressure should be or the leak down pressure in this thread or other ones I have searched.

Fuel injector Rebuilding/testing and TM and compression testing

I'm still stuck on what pressure the injectors should pop off at. The manual says 3000-3050 I think yet if you look up the injector part number from bosch in their manual, i think it said 3500 psi. So which is it? Is popping off at the higher pressure harder on the hydraulic head/injection pump...

Fuel injector Rebuilding/testing and TM and compression testing

I pop tested and adjusted my injectors last night in the Deuce. 74M35A2 was a great help to me, so quick shout out to him. haha. Now, my injectors were not the shim type adjustable. mine were screw thread where a 1/4" allen wench adjusts pressure on the spring instead of shims. It is a very nice...

Fuel injector Rebuilding/testing and TM and compression testing

Or if you had the ID and OD of the shims, that would be helpful too. I looked online for A/C clutch shims and there were some that came up. We would need ones that were 0.1MM thick for my application, but I do not know the ID or OD I should have. I may not pull the nozzles out at all and just...

Fuel injector Rebuilding/testing and TM and compression testing

I pop tested my injectors the other day and found they all popped/squirted at around 2400PSI. They did not chatter or or anything when they popped, more just a squirt out and acted like a pressure relief valve. I'm thinking if i just shim them up to the correct 3050 - 3200 PSI pop off pressure...

Fuel injector Rebuilding/testing and TM and compression testing

Are these the ones that go for about $150?

Fuel injector Rebuilding/testing and TM and compression testing

This is good information. I plan on doing my injectors once I locate a pop tester.
