The Cummins 250 is a good engine, but no engine can run without filters. Also how often do the injectors have to be replaced ? On our Cummins engines that's around 50,000 to 60,000 miles.

That's because the deuce has used 3 fuel filters ! Now about the longevity of the Cummins with just one fuel filter, well the jury is still out .

Actually they are very affective in the primary cleaning of particles. That's why manufactures waste there money on them.

I wouldn't use just one fuel filter. No manufacturer uses just one fuel filter for diesel, and believe me they would for the extra cost if they could get away with it ! You can get away with just using two, Primary and Secondary, but no filter will clean out the water and clean down to 6...
