Absolutely!!
Does anyone have a good rapport with the owner? I haven't talked to him since 2006. It would be good to run some of our ideas by him to see if he has a problem with any of them.
Good thought. If one person can bring a computer, then the rest of us can bring flash drives with our old pics and vids. I have some good ones from '05 and '06. Maybe one of the more computer savvy members can also set up a live webcam. We definitely need to video the truck pulls, mud bogs...
Sounds good David. Will you bring the Goat, the Mog, or both?
Anyone else have some ideas about events or competitions for the Rally?
Show-N-Shine?
GPS Scavenger Hunt?
Case Races?
Technical Demonstrations?
Vendor's Area?
Snipe Hunt? :-D
I just got some great news. Our esteemed BBQ pit boss, Cabell Garbee, has agreed to be the dinner chef for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night. We'll come up with a great menu featuring some variation of pork, beef, and chicken. I had Cabell's BBQ hog meat at Aberdeen 2007 and deep fried...
Now that's a PUMP! What we could do is convince David Doyle to drive his 530C firetruck up to IN for the festivities. Come on DD, you know you wanna!
Like an actual pit for mud racing? I know there were lots of various sized mud pits there last time I was there, but not any that were long enough where you could actually do a race. I would like to do something semi-formal with different classes and prizes for the class winners.
Nice! Last time we were there I saw a dozer behind the barn. Maybe the owner would scoop out a pit for us and fill it with H2O :-D How long is a regulation pit? I can't wait to run the 925A2 through it. I better get my CTIS working so I can set the tires to 10 psi on SAND mode
I would consider having it longer if people were interested. I don't know that I will be able to do a whole week. I was thinking about driving in on Wednesday and heading out on Sunday.
Any vendor interest out there in SS land?
I'm all for it if there is enough interest. Anyone know if sled pulls have been done as Haspin before? If not sled pulls, then I'm sure we could arrange to do some mud drags. Anyone have a HEMTT water tanker that we can take to the river to make a mud bog in case we don't have rain? :)
Any other comments on the June 10-14 date? It seems like that is going to work well for quite a few folks. I would like to be able to set it in stone so people can start planning their vacation days, etc... Please let me know if there are any other conflicts. Thanks!
Seems like a lot of guys are leaning towards June. Personally, I like it cool and wet, but that's why I asked for opinions. MD308, I'm not sure how June is any farther away from May than April :-P
What about June 10-14?
Great! Thanks for the offer to help, Jeff. Having other members to help with logistics will be key to making this thing a success. I have really missed going the last couple of years so I am very excited to do it again this year. It'll be even more special with the site turning 10!
Any...
