well im getting very close to reality here. Check out this guys vids. See it can be done YouTube - airspringhank45's Channel
Also here is some good tech reading on designing air suspension systems. http://www.firestoneindustrial.com/pdfs/OE/AirideDG.pdf
so im back at it with this project. I have found all the valving etc i need. Now i just to find bigger/ taller airbags, the biggest ones i have found are about a usable 10" travel(stroke)
I am also looking for some bigger/ taller airbag assembly's like Firestone ride rites that are self...
i plan to run two deep cycles, im trying to figure out how to make it so i can run the the 24v setup behind the civy truck as well and put a pos 12v to it to charge the batteries and not fry something.. does that makes sense?
yeah i found those at napa for cheaper and they are made in USA. My questions is though for the hot side of the 7 prong trailer plug what is the largest safe amount of charging amperage im going to get out of one of those?
Would i need to rearrange the battery wires so they are in 12v...
thats what i was thinking but, there is going to be the battery issue. Could the civy seven prong trailer plug provide enough power to run the pump without a battery system figure the pump pulls 400 amps ? What do those put out for a charge? Here is the trailer plug i am talking about Connector...
the pump is way over sized because its set up for volume not pressure. The system works on 13 psi or less! The air bag is like 16-20 inch diameter so it makes up for the pressure with its huge size.
These guys are very evasive which sucks because i think that they really do have something sweet...
just got an email back from them, they will not separate the kit and only sell me the airbag and hing assembly! which sucks because we already have on board air!
This would be really handy to have, im trying to figure out how to make it a dual voltage unit if i go electric over hydraulic, but then this little gem came along Load Hog Industries: Truck Accessories, Parts, and Bed Systems. Not so set on it yet though as it only can lift 4500 lbs and a yard...
so after some looking, my 105 trailer was a lift gate model and it already has some really beefy half round 1" thick welded mounts with a one inch diameter hole in the center that would be perfect to build the hinge assembly around. Has anyone looked at theirs, that is if they have a lift gate...
so heres another question. If i use a 24v solenoid for the up and down like you suggested, could i also run it off 12v towing it behind my civy truck?
I still cant get in touch with sr71blackbird, anyone heard or seen of him?
hmm that is interestingly common. So do you still run your power lead to the one hot or positive battery terminal and then one to the negative terminal or how does that work?
so i have one old 105 trailer left and i am considering making it a powered dump bed. So in anticipation and research i contacted pierce sales for some info on their 2 ton universal kits which comes with everything you would need to make it work. I then asked them about a 24v setup. They said...
