I finally replaced the steering stabilizer along with front and rear shocks because they were all shot. All Monroe parts. I got a good deal on them from Advance Auto Parts. I get a $90 mail in rebate on them. I can't wait to go out in it for a drive.
Soldier "B" and I replaced the leaking heater core with a replacement from Autozone. I did purchase and install some weatherstripping around where the heater core and damper are. I should get a good seal there. I also bought some new batteries since I have been using old suspect batteries.
I put my new wiper motor in :) Although when I went to start it, it tried to turn over very slowly, then click-click, and then nothing. It seems my back battery was somewhat drained so I'll have to dive into this issue during the week and/or this weekend.
I attempted to replace my windshield washer motor because the housing was destroyed but hit a temporary snag. The take off is the wiper & washer in one. I went to Autozone and gave them the info on the 09 and the one they had was just the wiper motor minus the washer motor. I said that...
I got my transmission filter changed out and new fluid added. When I pulled the pan it looked really good in there. I'm in the middle of replacing the door rubber. The seal mounted on the door seems to be a bit of a pain. I do have a few more issues to resolve but I'm slowly and methodically...
I still have to fix mine because I have the same issue. At the moment I have the window secured in the up position. I wasn't too sure how difficult this repair would be but after reading your thread, it makes me feel like I could fix this. I think I will do a good thorough clean out and...
I got a couple more little things done this evening. I replaced the side marker lenses, tail light lenses, and front clear lenses with new ones from LMC. Just some cosmetic stuff. I plan on changing the transmission filter next weekend before I put new fluid in there along with a few other...
Well it came to life today!!! I feel like its Christmas!!! I still have some door seals and what not but the major question has been answered and that was will it start and run. I guess I'll get back out there in a few and complete some more items on my list. It just sucks when it is 105 out.
Well the last couple of days I have spent close to $300 on fluids, filters, and a few misc. parts. I just got done replacing the CDR, the dry rotted vacuum hoses that I found the other day, replaced the air filter, and put the front seats in. Hopefully by Sunday, I'll get to fire it up :)
I bypassed my glow plug resistors and mounted the CB. I did discover some dry rotted hoses that will be getting replaced next. I will eventually get it all put back together and running.
You don't happen to have pictures of this? I've noticed when it has rained here that I have a leak up front by the side vents. I just haven't taken the time to see exactly where it is coming from.
Well my progress so far is:
Installed heater core and blower purchased from a fellow member.
Performed Doghead starter relay mod.
Installed new Duraterm glow plugs.
It has been really tough to get time to work on it when it is 100 + degrees outside. Then when I would, it would start to rain...
I re-installed the back bench seat along with my newly painted spare tire holder and gerry can holder. I also installed the combo pintle hitch that I bought. It got too dark before I could take some pictures. I'll take them tomorrow and post them. I also ordered 8 Bosch Duraterm glow plugs...
Really nice :) I didn't spray mine it doesn't look nearly as good. I think if I ever do it again I'll spray it on. I'll have to go check out your thread on it.
Yeah that is what I used, Dupli-color. I have no idea why I keep calling it Duraliner.
As far as cleaning out the dirt and debris, I used my water hose and just hosed it out real good. I would park it on a slight incline and spray toward the back. Well that was after I used my shop vac to...
jeffhuey1n, Thank you. I did the floor from front to back. Prep work depends on how you want to do it. I didn't tape anything off so in some spots it looks like my 3 year old daughter painted it which by the way she actually did some painting but not those spots :) For me I just ripped out...
