I took another oil sample today. Will post again on the results

I think this is another case of people being overly cautious. My hunch is that the diesel oil also meets the specs suggested by the gas engine manufactures. It might do to check them.

I use the Delo 400LE 15/40 from costco also. I got it tested after 3k miles and it was showed zero degradation and it has lots of zinc in it as well as other additives. Good stuff. Don't know about the Rotella. Are you a member of MVCCO? Do any of the parades around here?

What is any of that supposed to mean? I have no doubt that there have been failures using synthetic, conventional, or blends. “No failures” is not a reasonable standard as you have no idea what really caused the failure. A better question or standard is: Does a given oil reduce failure rates...

I'd like to compare your Delo 15W-40 w/ZDDP to my Delo 15W-40 without/ZDDP! My results are in a port some time back. I'll likely change my oil next Summer also for another data point.
