back to work.
first i bought AL-Ko winches rated at 900kg single line pull and! lifting load is permitted. OK, price is x10....ouch.
Than back to the mill and lathe.
update:
after a rope failure, i've decided to replace the winches. The rope breaks at normal lifting....normally a quality winch rope with 5mm is rated at 1300kg breaking load.
This rope doesn't stand 500kg....even with the weight of the half shelter on 1 leg (uneven load) the load isn't higher...
thanks! It works got, the only thing i will change is the winch. A strap winch would be better.
More capacity would be nice, too. I guess i take one with 800-1000kg / 1760-2200 lbs cause they have funny measure methods..like "rolling load" etc..
i don't see a problem with adding this system to a bed and i assume the M109 box has more or less the same subframe. If you want top it, you can add containerlocks, a custom 3 point subframe and you have the best of all worlds:
better off-road capabilities
easy switch between box and bed
it's a belgian shelter. It's for this deuce. Weight is about 1,5 ton , the whole truck ~16600 lbs. Weight distribution is also ok. For my use it's ok. Most time i use it as a normal truck.
didn't know that, in his thread he had used 4 hydraulic cylinders. I had thougt about that , but i've decided for the manual winch. works everythere, everytime at every temperature.
You can see the holes in the long tube and the winchbase, they have different distances, so i have a 2" raster to equalize uneven ground.
What you can not see was the frustrating part of the story. My first idea was to use a Hilift in the middle of the narrow side of the shelter. That doesn't...
One problem with a shelter is: How to get it on the truck?
If you haven't forklift or crane, you've a problem.
My idea was to put it off while i'm off-roading....so i need something portable.
Initial idea was the thread from Matt1970M35A ...
