It's a civilian 24 volt alternator on brackets made by tm america. I'm going to add a 12 volt alternator later and get rid of the inverter. I'm planning on making it so the alternator can charge the battery bank I'm installing on the box and have it so I can start the truck off that bank if the...
She isn't purdy enough yet but she will be soon :) It's an F6 flatbed truck.
I hear ya. You're probably talking about the gun storage. I've definitely thought about that. There's a reason I left out what guns go there and I figured if someone were to ever make it in my truck and was looking...
Just a new alternator, inverter, backup camera and finally made up some brackets to mount the aluminum ladder to the rear of the box. Other vehicle projects have been eating up all my time and money :) I'm planning on doing a bunch to the inside of the box during the winter. Planning on...
Thanks! The extent of my woodworking experience before this was building a clock in high school and cutting the plywood for the sub-floor. First time doing veneer too. Next is the overhead cabinets on the right side. More pics after I get things more completed.
These are the guys that make them Custom Off-Road Equipment So far it's the only seal that keeps my M35A2 from leaking. The old style would be leaking again after one drive.
Thanks. Good to see another CA 109 owner.
I'll post some more progress soon. Isn't as easy now because I can't edit my old posts and have to get a mod to move them up.
More coming soon!
I used a butcher knife, box cutter and straight edge. Mark the line with the straight edge, then also use it as a guide for running the knife. I cut along the line most of the way through with the butcher knife, that should be enough to break it at the seam, then cut the foil...
Updated post #4 with a few pictures. Also got the box wired to shore power and tested it, I'll post pics when I get the lights painted and re-installed and the receptacle permanently mounted on the box.
Scored 7 brand new, never mounted T-831s from 5 Tire in Texas(good folks to deal with) that...
I looked into the pressure treated stuff, but saw that it was harmful to metal so I didn't go that route.
Would be a challenge to redo the whole metal sub-floor, but definitely doable if you want the most durability. If you get the heat reflective insulation like I used you may be able to skip...
I saw that on youtube. Looks good except for those rust issues.
I got the thickest plywood I could, I think 1" or a little more, and just put it right on the crossmembers. It was a little difficult because the box isn't perfectly square, so it was a custom fit. I havent sealed the bottom yet...
I am taking weight into consideration. The 109 box is pretty heavy already and adding the floors and cabinets add a bit more weight. I'll also be pulling a hard top M105a2 with extra fuel and tools on my long distance trips, so this setup will be heavy. Before I added anything it was already...
