I'm not complaining about the notification. I'm just wondering why it won't go away when I click on it?

No matter how many times I click on my notification that my premium membership is going to expire, it still says that I have a new notification.

Here is one issue that I'm having... Also, why do unread messages have an open envelope icon, and read messages have a closed envelope? Shouldn't it be the other way around?
