Could the speedo be changed to show the correct speed after eliminating the gear reduction?

Interested.... And to @coachgeo 's point.... All of the drivetrain components are engineered to take the full HP and torque that the engine delivers (more considering most of our engines are running at lower settings, but newer/different models are running more HP/Torque on the same axles)...
