Mine appears to not be glued down in the middle area around the shifter cable hole. But around the edges, I can pull on the plastic and bend it, but it doesn't seem to want to let go on either side of the insulation where it's glued. I'm afraid to pull very hard and maybe crack the plastic...

Is there a way to get that insulated plastic cover off the doghouse without destroying it? Trying to get at the doghouse bolts with the lip of that cover in the way is very frustrating. I don't want to ruin anything getting the doghouse out. Is there a trick to this that I'm missing?

I haven't looked under the floor covering yet to see how bad it is. Somebody else posted they were able to do it from the top in the engine compartment. If my flooring is like yours, I may explore that route. I do not fancy the idea of tearing up my floor covering to do this.
