Just installed some Ranchero shocks, transmission cooler, and fog lights; replaced the front brake pads, and cleaned the rear drums to get rid of that awful squeaking. Now my M1009 rides like a dream!
Just dropped my M1009 off at the garage to have the tranny rebuilt after burning out a clutch plate; front seal was leaking slowly, then decided to give while doing 65 mph down the highway.
Replaced the old door locks with new ones; lubed the window cranks, reattached the rear view mirror (again!), and sanded down the dash to steel for refab.
Rebuilt the GEN 2 alt. after windshield wipers died during heavy rain on the highway. Stopped at a gas station, opened the hood, and ducked as sparks flew all over the place. Ended up that the plastic washer insulator on (+) post broke, and the bolt was arch welding itself to the housing. 45...
Took off the dash, removed the deteriorated foam padding and vinyl, and started sanding it. Gonna try a custom dash, just haven't figured out what to recover it with.
Installed license plate tag lights.
Changed the oil, new alternator belt
Cleaned and oiled hood latch
New vacuum modulator and...
